Scout Troop

The Scout Section is open to boys and girls aged from 10 to 14, we meet on a Friday night. During the winter months meetings are at Fancourt Hall in Stoneleigh from 19:00 to 21:30, and during the summer months we meet from 18:30 at our boathouse in Thames Ditton.

Scout activities

We run an active and varied program including rowing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking and much, much more. As part of Warspite, we are officially endorsed by the Royal Navy in recognition of our high standards and achievement.

Our summer expedition in 2009 was a week in Bergen-Op-Zoom in Holland, along with members of the Warspite Explorer Unit.

During the winter months, whilst not on the water, the Scouts' activities are based upon having a balanced program. This includes games, cooking, badgework, team building, leadership training, hikes, wide games and much more. Whilst many of these activities are based around preparing for our time on the water, with Scout's learning first aid and some of the theory they need to be safe on the water, lots of the activities are simply based on having fun and making friends.
